About Ellen
Ellen Leserman, OTOccupational & Feeding Therapist
|
The newest member of team Lotus Tree, Ellen grew up in Southern California and discovered Occupational Therapy while in middle school where she watched a younger cousin attend OT and thought it looked like a fun profession. Her passion only grew over the years and in 2014 she graduated from Boston University with a degree in Occupational Therapy.
Ellen spent the first four years as an occupational therapist in public school settings while living in Chicago and LA. She loved working with children and thrived serving within a multi-disciplinary team, but sought a more of a holistic approach that involved her clients’ families. This precipitated a move to Idaho in 2018 where Ellen began work in outpatient pediatric clinics, gaining tremendous knowledge and passion for working with and empowering kids and families. She found a particular interest in feeding therapy, receiving two feeding certifications for both sensory-based approach to feeding (SOS) and an oral motor approach to feeding (Beckman).
When not working (and playing) at the Lotus Tree, Ellen enjoys spending time outdoors, seeing concerts, exploring new restaurants and coffee shops, cooking, and hanging out with her family and dogs.
